This is a space for survivors and those who wish to help support and empower them.

We don't have any answers. We don't know what's best for you.

We each have our own needs, perspectives, stories, skills, and challenges. The basic principle on which this community is based is that no one person can speak for anyone else's experience of trauma, coping and/or healing.

This is designed to be a space in which we can gently explore, connect and share, as we search for our own answers on our own unique paths.

A space where we can share what has (and has not) worked for us on our personal journeys, without pressuring others to respond, cope and/or heal the same way.

A space where we can perhaps brainstorm and design initiatives to help support & empower survivors in a world that often falls short of doing so (often actively retraumatizing people).

Even when we have different perspectives (as we inevitably sometimes will), we can learn from each other, support each other, and empathize with each other as best we can.

We don't exactly know what we envision this space to be yet, partly because it's brand new and still taking shape, and partly because we don't see it as belonging only to us.

All community members will be welcome to help shape whatever this space may become.

Note: The title of the page may seem a bit mysterious. It has special meaning as a healing metaphor to one of our co-founders (Crystal, the authour of this post). I won't explain it now. Someday perhaps it will form the title of an essay or book about my own personal journey, but I also wanted to give the community this name because the basic idea is to co-create a space of safety where we can connect and nourish ourselves before setting out again on our individual and collective journeys.
